Machine Tool Technology Program
Despite the economic downturn, machinists and machine operators are still in demand. Local employers tell us that there is a shortage of entry-level machinists in Salina and North-Central Kansas. The national outlook is good, with more jobs than qualified applicants for the foreseeable future.
Salina Area Technical College offers a fast-track program in Machine Tool Technology using equipment that’s commonly found in machine shops. Our nine-month program leads to careers in different fields, such as Assembly Person, Machine Operator, Machinist, Tool and Die Maker, Tool Room Technician, Methods and Standards, Quality Control, CNC Operator, CNC Programmer, and Management.
